Why Verge of Discovery?
Knowledge is more abundant than ever before. Google is the home page of most people’s browsers and Wikipedia can teach you enough to be dangerous on any topic you desire. You can even search for the latest news on your subject and research articles in your field of interest. You can pick up a book at your local library or buy one on Amazon. The only option that is not readily available is a face to face conversation with the experts themselves. What if you can sit in the same room with the brightest minds and ask them any question you desire?
Just imagine Christopher Columbus telling you personally what it was like to explore the Americas or the Wright brothers describing to you what it was like to fly for the first time.
Our goal is bring the latest knowledge to you directly from the minds of people who are taking us into the future. We want to learn from them and be inspired by them. We want to know about their successes and their failures in a 30 minute conversation. Just imagine Christopher Columbus telling you personally what it was like to explore the Americas or the Wright brothers describing to you what it was like to fly for the first time. What would that feel like? This is what the Verge of Discovery is about, that moment of personal discovery from the hearts and minds of our brightest stars.
Thank you for joining us and enjoy the show!
Introduction to Verge of Discovery
VERGE OF DISCOVERY aims to bring scholars, intellectuals and visionaries in the field of science and technology together under one community that has a common goal. That goal is to change the world we live in. We want to hear from today’s brightest stars with the brightest ideas in their fields.
Our guests are encouraged to share their stories of how they started and what brought them to where they are today. We will concentrate on their story, their passion, their successes and of course their failures. We will ask the most important question of WHY they are doing what they do and HOW their work affects our daily lives. Our guests are also encouraged to share what resources they use, what books they read and any advice that they can share with our listeners, their colleagues, students and knowledge lovers alike. Our guests are our mentors and friends and are the light of Discover Nation!
